All because two people fell in love...

We met in February 1989, started dating in May, and got married in September. And Josh came *almost* 11 months later, just in case y'all were wondering. And then no more came. We waited, and waited, and then Lauren decided to make her debut in May 1995 (5 weeks early), and then Kayley 1997, Jacob 1998, Krissy 2001, Lindsey 2004 & Joey 2006. We lived in Texas until 2005, and then we moved to Arkansas, just about 25 miles north of Texarkana, Texas. Fortunately all my children are Texans (and my handsome husband) because Texans are just cool. Wish I was a Texan... but husband had to settle with a California gal, which I think is pretty cool too.

Miss Land-of-Lights Pageant

These small towns and their pageants!! Lauren has loved doing them. Since she still had her dress from Prom and the last pageant, she decided to wear it again in this one. We tried to get Kayley to enter and wear the red one that Lauren 1st wore, but she wouldn't. Here she is about to head out. Sorry for some of the pictures being bad. I was in the way back, and Jon's girlfriend, Carrie, took these with her phone.
Standing in line. The girl at the right of this picture was so mad that she didn't make the Top 5, that she left before the pageant was even over. Not cool.
Lauren playing "Music of the Night" from Phantom of the Opera.
And she won the talent part.
She was pretty happy.
And then she won Miss Congeniality. So 2 trophies that night. Here she is with Kayley and cousin Rebekah after the pageant. Later that night all 3 watched the movie.
Because she won, she had to attend the lighting of the Little River County Courthouse the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. She also had/has to be in the parades. She's already been in the Foreman parade, and Ashdown's is Monday (weather permitting... if so, it will be changed to Tuesday).
Kayley got her haircut. She cut off about 3-4 inches, and got it layered.
Where is my 14 year old daughter?! She is looking so grown up!! Very beautiful!!
Jacob playing his trumpet at the Parents Meeting the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.

Cookies tonight!

Tonight is the First Presidency's Christmas Devotional.
I am making cookies and later while we are watching it we will sip on hot chocolate.
It's quite cold outside today too, so this is perfect!
Maraschino Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 - 2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 sticks butter (not margarine or Crisco butter sticks)
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
6 oz. mini chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 jar maraschino cherries, drained, chopped and drained again in strainer.

Cream butter and sugar. Add flour, baking powder, salt, vanilla. Stir in last 3 ingredients. Bake 375 for 10 minutes. (There are no eggs... do not add any.)
